This wooden nest of boxes are made from Japanese cypress that grew in Shimanto, Kochi Prefecture. Each item is handmade by traditional Japanese draftsmen there, representing the art of Japanese craft and minimalism at its best.
Next of boxes are called “Jyubako” in Japan, which has been used for centuries to serve food. Important days, such as the New Year’s Day, special food, called “Osechi” is served in the nest of boxes.
